Self-Employed Taxpayer ServicesAccountAbility Minnesota's self-employment tax program is targeted to sole proprietors and self-employed individuals.
Eligibility If you receive a Form 1099 -MISC with income in box 7, you are considered self-employed. If you operate a daycare in your home, you are self -employed. If you received cash/check payments for work you did on your own, you may be self-employed. Our services are limited to sole proprietor business owners whose income is $50,000 or less.
If you made more than $3,000 or operated a daycare, you must have your taxes prepared at the AAM Main Midway St. Paul office. If your business made less than $3,000, you can have your taxes done at most AAM community tax sites.
Services Provided Specially-trained volunteers help entrepreneurs with tax preparation including workshops to assist sole proprietors to get ready for their tax appointment. We do current and past years' tax returns.
Self-Employed Tax Organizers Please complete our self employment tax organizer if you are self-employed or if you are a daycare provider please fill out our daycare tax organizer before coming to the tax clinic for tax preparation assistance. Our self-employment tax clinics are held on Mondays by appointment only beginning Feb. 1, 2010.
