Instructions to take the IRS tests online now available

If you are interested in taking the IRS certification tests online, you can find the insructions to take them in the volunteer library.  The link to the library is on the right hand side of the page.  Please send any questions  you have to lresner@accountabilitymn.org.

Below are the test requirements for each volunteer position:

Tax site specialist: No tests required.

Financial advocate: No tests required.

Financial planner: No tests required.

Tax preparer: Take and pass the basic and intermediate tests.

Reviewer: Tax and pass the basic, intermediate, and advanced tests.

Self-employment preparer/reviewer: Take and pass the basic, intermediate, advanced, and schedule C tests.

Interested in taking your test now?  You can take your tests online through IRS' website. Head to http://www.irs.gov/app/vita/ to get started.  Email afaitek@accountabilitymn.org with any questions.

2012 IRS paper test is available

For those that want to get a start on their test, the IRS has released a paper version of their test.  To download a copy of it, cost and past the link below into your browser.   If you do decide to take it via paper, please make sure to email a list of your answers to Leigh Resner at lresner@accountabilitymn.org.
